GHS and HAZWOPER Awareness Training

Course Overview:

This course provides comprehensive awareness training on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standards. Designed for employees who work with or around hazardous chemicals and waste, the training equips participants with essential knowledge to identify chemical hazards, understand labeling and safety data sheets (SDS), and recognize safe handling and emergency response procedures.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the principles and components of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)

  • Interpret GHS labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) effectively

  • Recognize hazardous chemical classifications and associated risks

  • Gain awareness of HAZWOPER regulations and their applicability

  • Learn best practices for handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials

  • Understand emergency response protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) and HAZWOPER Standard (29 CFR 1910.120)


This certification is good for two years.

Silica Safety Training

Course Overview:

This Silica Safety Training course is designed to educate workers on the hazards associated with respirable crystalline silica exposure in the workplace. Participants will learn to identify sources of silica dust, understand its health effects, and implement effective control measures to minimize exposure and ensure compliance with OSHA’s Silica Standard (29 CFR 1926.1153).

Course Objectives:

  • Understand what crystalline silica is and how it becomes airborne

  • Recognize common tasks and operations that generate silica dust

  • Learn about the health risks linked to silica exposure, including silicosis and other respiratory diseases

  • Review OSHA’s Silica Standard requirements and permissible exposure limits (PELs)

  • Identify engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) used to reduce exposure

  • Understand proper housekeeping and monitoring procedures

  • Learn effective respiratory protection and fit-testing practices

  • Recognize the importance of medical surveillance and training
